Teknopark

As of February 2022, Xient will be represented by a branch office at Yildiz Technical University Technopark in Istanbul. A subsidiary, Xient Bilgi Teknolojileri Yazılım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., has been established for the opening of the second location.

The Cologne-based IT consulting company sees its new location in Turkey as a multifaceted opportunity to expand its existing core activities in the development of cloud and artificial intelligence solutions. There will be a special focus on implementations for current IT requirements in the European region.

The company also plans to expand its existing range of services. Not only the Xient Solution Factory for the development of custom applications, but also other managed services for operational support will be further expanded from here. Xient also intends to include low-code applications in its service portfolio for the benefit of its customers. To support the implementation of the project, the company involved two renowned professors from Marmara University, ensuring that academic exchange in Turkey took place from the very beginning.

"The new location in Istanbul is a very important step for us. On the one hand, it serves as an expanded workbench for our projects in the DACH region, so that we can further scale our existing projects. It also gives us access to important business areas and new technologies as well as business models driven by AI or IoT. The less regulated market environment in particular provides a special dynamic here," explains Yavuz Yildiz, Managing Director of Xient GmbH.

With more than 5,000 R&D staff and software developers already employed at the Technopark and more than 300 ongoing R&D and incubation projects, Xient believes the location is particularly suitable.

In addition, Turkey is in a highly attractive position. Compared to other countries, the country has a relatively young population. In 2020, the average age was 31.5 years. The market environment is therefore very vibrant and has a high affinity for new technical applications and modern business models. A closer look at the market confirms this: Numerous successful applications from Turkey have already entered the European market. Notable examples include the online retailer Trendyol and the on-demand delivery service Getir.

However, the choice of Istanbul as the location is certainly not a coincidence. "It is not for nothing that the city is seen as a melting pot between East and West. From an economic point of view, it is also a bridge between Europe and Asia. We want to make targeted use of these advantages," says Yavuz Yildiz.

Xient GmbH is a highly specialized IT consulting company for software-based business processes. The focus areas are Architecture, Analytics and cloud around the SAP ecosystem. In addition, Xient has expertise in complementary software tools or independent developments. The company is headquartered in Cologne.
