Dashboards are important visual aids for decision makers to quickly and easily assess important key figures and thus identify trends. That's why our customer, Europe's largest automotive group, approached us with the task of extending and redesigning the group's own dashboard based on existing SAP FIORI applications. This was a challenging task in an environment where even small mistakes can have serious consequences.

One of the main tasks was to comprehensively map the KPI analysis graphically and record the level of efficiency of manufacturing and production in the client's system. The dashboard we developed is used at our customer as part of the cost analysis of the vehicle, construction and model series.

Agile development in a highly sensitive environment

In implementing the challenges, our experts used their extensive experience in SAP dashboarding and KPI analysis. As certified SAP FIORI/UI5 developers, they were able to consistently implement the required results.

For the development of the new dashboards, we applied proven SCRUM principles in close consultation with the relevant specialized departments. The Group updates the programs used in its environments to the latest versions quarterly. We have many years of expertise in agile software development according to SCRUM. This made it not difficult for us to meet maximum quality assurance standards despite short development cycles.

The scope of our developments played a decisive role in all the innovations introduced. As you can imagine, it is a highly competitive environment, as is the automotive industry. Therefore, a decision based on incorrect data can have negative consequences worth millions. Moreover, our work took place at a time when the introduction of our customer's new electric car model series was of the highest priority. This is nothing short of one of the most important milestones in the Group's history.

Modern dashboards and consistent data

Despite the initial complex situation, the project was completed thanks to the efforts of our consultants and developers. They were able to successfully implement the modernization of the group dashboard during ongoing operations. We experienced several challenges due to the non-uniform system architecture across the group, one of which was that the aggregation of KPIs required more effort. However, the dashboard solution we created supports decision makers in optimizing production processes.
